This summer, colleagues from across Vertas Group took on Race Around the UK, raising an incredible £12,539.50 for Cancer Research UK.
The challenge formed part of our annual Exec Experience, which brings colleagues together to take on something different while raising money for a cause that means a great deal to people across our business.
204 miles. Two days. One shared goal.
Three Board-led teams representing the East of England, the Midlands and the North were given a mystery route through their region – with a limited budget, no digital maps and just two days to complete it.
Across June and July, 23 colleagues travelled a combined 204 miles, navigating their way through the challenge while generating support from colleagues, clients, suppliers and communities along the way.
There was plenty of friendly competition, but Race Around the UK was about much more than reaching the finish line.
It was an opportunity for people from different parts of Vertas Group to work together, build new connections and make a difference beyond their everyday roles.
Making it matter
Cancer Research UK has been Vertas Group’s charity partner since 2017, and together we've now raised more than £100,000 to support research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
This year's total included £10,349 in donations and £2,190.50 in Gift Aid, made possible by the generosity of colleagues, clients, suppliers and supporters.
It’s one example of how people across Vertas Group come together to support the causes and communities that matter to them.
Because working here isn't only about the job you do. It's also about the difference we can make when we do something together.
