Oral Health Project Officer - Supervised Toothbrushing Scheme

Rate of Pay: £16.35 per hour PAYE / £22.20 per hour UMB

Location: Hybrid basis, onsite requirement on Wednesday's on weekly basis. Office based in Walsall Town Centre.

Hours: 30 hours per week

Duration: Temporary basis, 6 months with potential to extend

All applicants are required to have a Valid Full UK Driving Licence and access to their own vehicle due to requirement of travel.

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Walsall Council, for a Oral Health Project Officer on a temporary basis. We are seeking an organised and proactive Oral Health Project Officer to support the administration and day-to-day coordination of the National Supervised Toothbrushing Scheme across Walsall.

Duties:

  • Administer the National Supervised Toothbrushing Scheme in Walsall, ensuring smooth day-to-day delivery.
  • Maintain accurate stock control of programme resources (e.g., toothbrushes/toothpaste) and related supplies.
  • Coordinate logistics, including planning, scheduling and managing deliveries/collections to participating settings.
  • Oversee storage arrangements and undertake regular travel to/from the storage facility and Walsall Council offices as required.
  • Provide timely updates and reporting to national and local programme leads, maintaining clear records and audit trails.
  • Act as the first point of contact for nursery and primary schools invited to join the programme, providing guidance and responding to queries.
  • Liaise with approved training providers to coordinate training and support for settings.
  • Use IT systems confidently to manage data, reports and correspondence (including Microsoft Office and Excel).

Essential Experience / Wualifications

  • NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience at this level.
  • Strong communication skills, with confidence liaising with schools and stakeholders.
  • Project support/coordination skills, including organising logistics and maintaining accurate records.
  • Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between sites (including the storage facility and council offices).
